About the S4A30A
The HPE Networking Instant On Switch 24p Gigabit 4p SFP+ 1940 (S4A30A) is a 24-port smart-managed Layer 2+ gigabit switch with four dedicated SFP+ uplink ports running at 1G or 10G, and no Power over Ethernet.
The four 10G uplinks are the reason to choose the 1940 generation over the 1840 at this port count: where the 1840's 24-port models cap their uplinks at 1G SFP, this one aggregates a full floor of gigabit access into 10-gigabit fibre, and switching capacity rises accordingly to 128 Gbps with 95 Mpps forwarding.
It draws 0.45 A and 25.3 W at full traffic, the lowest of any 24- or 48-port model in the series, and runs a single fan rated at 3.4 Bel. Where the access points and cameras are powered elsewhere, dropping the PoE stage removes both cost and heat.
