About the S4A33A
The HPE Networking Instant On Switch 48p Gigabit 4p SFP+ 1940 (S4A33A) is a 48-port smart-managed Layer 2+ gigabit switch with four dedicated SFP+ uplinks at 1G or 10G, and no Power over Ethernet. It is the highest-density non-PoE model in the series.
Capacity scales with the port count: 176 Gbps of switching and 131 Mpps of forwarding, backed by a 4 MB packet buffer — eight times the 8-port model's — which is what keeps 48 ports of concurrent traffic from dropping frames under burst.
Link aggregation takes 8 members per group here against 4 on the smaller models, so several 10G uplinks can be trunked into a core. At 38.8 W under full traffic and a single fan, it is the quiet, low-draw option for a floor whose endpoints are powered elsewhere.
