About the S4A36A
The HPE Networking Instant On Switch 8p SR10 4p CL6 PoE 2p SFP+ 120W 1940 (S4A36A) is an eight-port smart-managed Layer 2+ switch in which every access port is Smart Rate, autosensing 100M, 1G, 2.5G, 5G and 10GBASE-T over copper. Ports 1 to 4 additionally carry IEEE 802.3bt Class 6 PoE within a 120 W budget.
It is the only model in the series with 10-gigabit copper access. That makes it the aggregation or workgroup unit for sites where a handful of endpoints — a NAS, a video editing workstation, a wireless controller — need 10G over existing Cat6a rather than fibre, with four of those ports able to power a device at up to 60 W.
Switching capacity is 200 Gbps with 148.8 Mpps forwarding, matching the 48-port flagship in a compact 29.60 × 29.50 × 4.40 cm body. Two SFP+ uplinks run at 1G or 10G, and a single fan cools it at 3.6 Bel.
